This is at Tacheles, which was a major squat in the past. It's in a bombed out block in East Berlin that was never repaired there was a squatted bar and show spaces, but now it's all legal. All the underground activity has moved further out, but Tacheles is still a center for East Berlin, but now there's a velvet lined "goth bar" on one floor and the street level bar (which has a giant beer tap shaped like a dragon, made out of scrap metal, that spits a ball of fire when the tap is pulled) is frequented by tourists.

The holes are deceptively simple, but mad german engineering is involved. You have a choice of four balls that have different weights and textures that effect play. They are color coded with a suggestion for the best ball for every hole.

These were taken at Randy and Haage's "garden colony"- which is apparantly a common tradition for Berliners to have a plot of garden and small cottage at one of these areas just outside the city. Just dont let your garden get wild and overgrown like Haage's, or the salty German neighbors will give you the screwface.

Just a little picnic at the Tour Eiffel- defintely a worthwhile tradition. Around sunset the kids there look so proper and well-dressed, but after dark the hippies come out and you hear strains of accoustic renditions of "Hotel California".. thats when you run for it.

Elvis was a wild cat from the mountains who ended up living with Allesandra and Giorgio in Torrino. He stalks the roofs of their neighborhood and kills things like bats and birds. He is very comfortable up there except once he was lured over to the roofs of an adjacent apartment block by a seductive female cat and ended up falling off the roof 5 stories. He survived, but his jaw was broken and he hid out in a basement for almost a week. As you can see, he has regained his composure.

So we left Torino for few days and heade with Giorgio down to the Italian Riviera. We were in the Northern part, which is mainly a vacation destination for older Italians. At first I had a strange feeling walking around and decided I didn't like the place. But Giorgio told us that he always felt like that when he first came down to the seaside from the mountains. Apparantly the difference in pressure is so great that it affects your mindstate. He was right, after a few hours I felt better, but I still didn't like the place. The beaches just weren't that nice and they were totally hogged up by cafes which charged to sit under their umbrellas. It was a nice little side trip anyway, we had some amazing seafood and saw some cool little old towns.
