thank you leelee! we were actually already in hanoi by the time we got your comment, (we started in saigon and worked our way up north), it was a much appreciated tip though.
we are in laos now. we went on a trek out to a waterfall with two lao guides and one of them reminded me so much of you. he had the same smile as you and when he jumped off the high rock ledge and into the little pool at the base of the waterfall he threw his chest out like he was embracing the fall and it made me think about your painting.
